“Nomads on a Motorcycle” by Rebecca Millner, Photojournalism

Caption: This picture captures much of what I observed while studying abroad in Mongolia: the coming together of two worlds. With Mongolia’s recent entrance into the world market, technological advances, such as the motorcycle, have integrated with the traditional practices of the Mongolian people. The majority of nomads now use the motorcycle as a means of transportation, differing from the customary use of horses. I was most taken by the changing face of Mongolia as its predominately nomadic population faces modernization.
